To the uninitiated, scrapple sounds gross: "Do you know what's in there? No way I'm eating that!" It's hard to really blame them.
But I've found if people understand the full history of scrapple and why it was initially created -- we've got all these left over pig parts and we need to feed our family -- people are a little bit more open to listening and trying.

You love scrapple. If you could, you would eat it every day (maybe you do). But part of your job as a scrapple eater is to spread the love.
So what's the best technique for introducing scrapple newbies to this delicious, but often misunderstood meat? Here are a few suggestions.
1. Play It Cool
Don't make a big deal about how awesome scrapple is. It will only lead to questions, and in this case, questions are our enemy. The less newbies know before eating scrapple, the better.
Just offer to make breakfast. Nothing special, no big deal.

My first taste of scrapple: a moment that changed my life forever. I was probably about 14-years-old and fairly new to the state of Maryland.
I had done most of my growing up before then in Upstate New York. Being a long distance from Philadelphia, scrapple was not much of a known food up there. I was completely oblivious.
